From November 28-30 in Trieste there will be a transnational meeting to launch the GPP-Stream project (Green Public Procurement and Sustainability Tools for Resource Efficiency Mainstreaming).
The meeting will be attended by the Regional Minister for environment and energy, Mr. Fabio Scoccimarro, who brings greetings from the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia, whose Regional Directorate for Environment and Energy leads the project.
During the three days, representatives of several European countries (Italy, France, Spain, Bulgaria and Romania) will discuss issues of green public procurement. The common goal is to share good practices and improve the capacity to apply this administration tool.
Green public procurement, in fact, integrating environmental criteria into public procurement, is a tool that can lead public administrations towards the purchase of products and services with low environmental impact, promote savings (for example, lower energy consumption) and a better management of public spending and represent an effective incentive for the development of the competitiveness of the production system and for the entrepreneurial system of European regions.
The project is funded by the Interreg Europe Programme 2014-2020.
