The Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment is representing Ireland in an Interreg Europe Project – GPP4Growth which launched this year. The goal of the project is to develop green public procurement policy, raise awareness, increase investment, train procurement professionals and increase the number of tenders with Green Public Procurement (GPP) criteria.
We would like to invite you to the second stakeholder meeting of the GPP4Growth project in Portlaoise, Co. Laois @ The Midlands Park Hotel, Jessop Street, on the 12th October, 2017 from 9.00am until 14.00pm. The event programme is attached.
The GPP4Growth project aims to support public administrations and businesses to adopt lifecycle cost approaches and improve the overall management of resources and waste through GPP. The project will provide a platform for public authorities to share practices and experiences relevant to implementing GPP, and help identify opportunities to apply GPP to achieve green growth.
This event is the second of a number of meetings scheduled under this programme. The purpose of this event is to look at barriers to Green Public Procurement in Ireland at both a national and local level and aims to identify the key actions that could help drive an increase in GPP.
