Project GPP4Growth received recognition during the presentation of the Stara Zagora Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of the regional forum "Business for good" in Stara Zagora, which took place on 20.06 (Wednesday). The Chairman of CCI-Stara Zagora took note of the role of the interregional workshop on eco-labels and non-exclusive GPP practices that took place within the framework of the project and provided an opportunity to present a case study related to the forest certification in the country and the direct impact this has on the woodworking industry and the furniture producers in our country. As a result of a discussion between representatives of the business and the responsible institutions, a recommendation was made to amend the texts in the forest certification act.


The event was organized by the Bulgarian UN Global Compact Network in partnership with Stara Zagora Municipality, Stara Zagora Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ContourGlobal Maritza Iztok 3. Participants in the event were representatives of Stara Zagora Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Public Donors Fund - Stara Zagora, Stara Zagora Municipality, Zagorka AD, ContourGlobal Maritza Iztok 3.


Forum participants also discussed how corporate social responsibility is a possible mission for each business, the importance of leadership and personal initiative, and the power of collective projects. The good practices of his work have also been presented by Ognian Trayanov, Chairman of the Bulgarian UN Global Compact Network. Representatives of Contour Global Maritza Iztok 3 and other companies in the region as well as non-governmental organizations in the city also shared their experience of joint initiatives with institutions and business.
