Presentation of the Lombardy Region Action Plan on Green Procurement, Milano, 28/6/2019

Lombardy Region is organising an event to present the first draft of the Regional Action Plan on Green Procurement and the Guidelines on Minimum Environmental Criteria for the organisation of events on Friday 28th of June. The event is organised within the European project "Green Public Procurement for resource efficient regional growth" of the Interreg Europe programme.

With Green Public Procurement (GPP) the Public Administration becomes the protagonist of a sustainable development strategy. The PA, in fact, integrates environmental criteria at all stages of the purchasing process, encouraging the diffusion of environmental technologies and the development of products that are valid from an environmental point of view, the search for and the use of solutions that have the least impact on the environment throughout the entire product life cycle.

With the new public procurement code approved in 2016, Italy is one of the few countries where the application of minimum environmental criteria became mandatory.

The adoption of minimum environmental criteria for the different types of products and services, gives the possibility to Public Administrations to launch a homogeneous and coordinated GPP policy at national level.

It is in this perspective that we will be able to share during the event the application of a set of environmental criteria that will be adopted shortly concerning the organisation and management of events.
