The INKREASE mid-term conference will be held in Bologna, the 26th March. It will be focused on the regional innovation ecosystems.

"REGIONAL INNOVATION ECOSYSTEMS, ACCELERATORS OF GROWTH AND CHANGE"

Session 1: MOBILIZING REGIONAL COMMUNITIES FOR INNOVATION
The construction of a dynamic and efficient RIS requires the participation and the collaboration of different actors that play their own role in the framework of a common interest.
The first element to analyze is how they can change their behavior from a traditional to a RIS oriented approach.
Interviews with representatives of good practices: human capital formation, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, cluster organizations, governance agencies.
To be analyzed: factors and ways of change, obstacles, policies.

Session 2: SMART SPECIALIZATION AND CROSS CONTAMINATION AT THE REGIONAL LEVEL
A second element in favor of RIS is the easier possibility, in a territorial context, to generate not only specialization, but also cross contamination processes.
Cross contamination, interdisciplinarity, cross-industry relationships are essential sources of non conventional innovation. The territorial dimension is ideal for promoting matches and combination of different technology competencies, business ideas and creative stimuli.
Does it work?
Round table: researchers, start uppers, firms

Session 3: CONNECTING RIS TO DEVELOP COMPLEMENTARITIES AND SYNERGY
RIS cannot be self-consistent, but must be open in a win-win perspective, in order to better valorize specific areas of specialization by connecting with other complementary areas elsewhere: research to research, research to business, business to research, cluster to cluster, business networks, also in the Industry 4.0 framework.
Roundtable of case histories, from instance from Vanguard network or other initiatives.
