Interregional workshop in Italy

The interregional workshop on innovation hubs will be organized at the campus of the Polytechnic of Milan in the city of Lecco. Lecco is a city, north of Milan, with roughly 50.000 inhabitants. Through the years many projects on innovation, involving SMEs and their territory, have been developed there. The workshop will be based on exchange of best practices of support centers for rural economy SMEs and discussion on new technologies in agriculture identified by partners.

All partners, stakeholder group members and external experts will participate. The organizer of the workshop, Lombardy Foundation for the Environment, will after the event conduct a summary report on conclusions for dissemination purpose. Partners of the project will organize internal reporting meetings in their organizations to diffuse lesson learnt. Lessons learnt will be a base for policy briefs evaluated by decision makers. Policy briefs are suggestions for improving policies on supporting growth and development of rural SME’s.
