From 19th-20th January 2021, the University of Silesia in Katowice and Marshall's Office of the Silesian Voivodeship had hosted the online meeting on which the peer review and workshop had taken place.

In the meeting participated representatives from local stakeholders, among of which there were such institutions as:

  • Łukasiewicz Research Network — Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals
  • Upper Silesian Agency for Entrepreneurship and Development Ltd.
  • Central Mining Institute
  • WSB University
  • SPIN-US Ltd

There were also project partners and foreign stakeholders present.

On the first day, there were presentations on the Silesia Region, the University of Silesia, and a regional diagnosis prepared and given by the Central Mining Institute. The second part of the day was dedicated to collaborative work on issues described in diagnosis, such as the importance of regional database of RI Infrastructure, lack of universal rules of access to use RII for external clients, complicated access to RII in multiorganizational relations and restrictions on commercial use of RII financed by EU Funds.

On the second day, participants had an opportunity to see a presentation on an intermediary between companies and the university done by SPIN-US Ltd. The group then gathered its strengths and experience to think over how to advertise research services to draw companies' attention.

As a post-meeting survey showed, this InnoHEIs meeting is seen as successful and interesting. We are looking forward to the next one.
