The last week, the first meeting of Stakeholders Group of InnovaSPA project took place at the Center for Implementation and Promotion of Innovation in Olsztyn.
The meeting was attended by representatives of local governments with health SPA potential, entrepreneurs interested in development of medical tourism in above localities and representatives of regional government: Department of Regional Policy and Department of Sport and Tourism. In Warmia and Mazury region, so far only one sanatorium (health SPA) operates, in the city of Gołdap, but the status of health SPA preservation area is possessed by: Frombork, Miłomłyn, Lidzbark Warmiński and Górowo Iławeckie, which means that other localities will soon seek health SPA patients, thus the need of talks and building up partnership in this field.
During discussion, huge needs were indicated in terms of acquiring funds in order to develop, before all, open-access spa infrastructure and therapeutic devices.
Local governments, that attended the meeting, declared closer and more formalized cooperation to create better tourism SPA offer in our region. We hope, that achievements of this project will contribute to extend season in tourism sector because SPA patients exploit SPA offer regardless of season.
