An unexpected development, which is greatly enhancing the InnovaSUMP project activities, is that the 5th Annual SUMPs Conference will be held on 14-15 May 2018 in Nicosia, , Cyprus. Nicosia Municipality, lead partner of the InnovaSUMP project is co-organiser of the Conference. The Chair of the Transportation Committee of Nicosia Municipal Council and Municipal Councillor made this announcement at the closing session of the 4th SUMPs Conference held in Dubrovnik, Croatia at the end of March 2017. The 5th SUMPs Conference to be held in Nicosia, will offer an excellent platform to showcase the interim results of the InnovaSUMP project at the most important annual event regarding SUMPs development and related policies implementation in Europe. It is envisaged that the available project results will be presented at the Conference and the InnovaSUMP partnership will have a stand at the associated forum exhibition to highlight the project approach, proposed innovations in the SUMP process, related policy learning and implementation implications.
This spin-off activity thanks to the interregional cooperation will highlight and showcase the InnovaSUMP project as well as the Interreg Europe programme relevant projects on sustainable mobility planning to the specialised audience of the annual SUMPs Conference (400 delegates are expected), for the first time.
