Through the energy agency of Ageneal the city of Almada is to the forefront of ideas concerning the encouragement of citizens to become more engaged in efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at both the personal and community level.
During the study visit project partners will hear and witness some of the techniques utilised by Ageneal (the energy agency for the city of Almada) to transition its citizens into a low carbon society.
Amongst the initiatives to be shared with project partners are:
the local decarbonisation living lab - boosting neighbourhood communities through innovation
PLAC (Plataforma Local almada Climat)- the local climate action stakeholders platform in Almada
Childrens local agenda 21 - The school community influencing local policies
Ponto Energia - a one stop shop for energy efficiency improvements
A number of site visits have also been included:

the social housing energy saving project at Monte da Caparica
Costa Caparica - Community resilience to Climate change.
