The city and region surrounding Almada has with the support of Ageneal (Agencia de Municipal de Energia de Almada), the local energy agency has derived many community engagement practices to assist in the development of a low carbon economy in the region. Project participants from Provincia Treviso (Italy), Trnava (Slovakia) and Zadar (Croatia) will learn about some of the best practices that have been developed. These good practices include the development of a local decarbonization living laboratory, a local climate change stakeholder platform (PLAC), the community children's local agenda 21, the Ponto Energia: a one stop-shop for energy efficienct investments, the HERB project (Holistic Energy Efficient Retrofitting of existing Building stock), The Almada health bus. The study tour will end with a visit to Costa Caparica where participants will see climate change in action.
