Environmental Protection Agency Ireland is hosting an online public lecture on ‘Covid-19 and Global Carbon Emissions: A glimpse of the challenge of reaching the Paris climate commitments’ as part of the National Dialogue on Climate Action.

It will present the latest Global Carbon Budget analysis, including the impact of Covid-19 and “describe what is needed to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement in terms of both emissions reduction and terrestrial removals to 2050.”

Invited guest speaker is Dr. Joseph G. (Pep) Canadell, a Chief Research Scientist in CSIRO Climate Science Centre, Oceans and Atmosphere. He is also the Executive Director of the Global Carbon Project which provides annual updates on greenhouse gas emissions and removals.
