Maribor Development Agency, the lead partner of project INTRA (programme Interreg Europe) proposed changes to the OP for implementation of the EU Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 in East Slovenia. As the result, the Ministry for Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia prepared the Internationalisation vouchers.

Sabina Blatnik, CEO of Nanoten:

“The voucher system helped us gain the ISO 9001 certificate, which is essential for our business. In the future we hope to gain another voucher, to help us with the eco-certificate, which would further support our efforts to establish ourselves on foreign markets.”

Nanoten is company that provides highly innovative solutions for water softening, filtration and savings on the level of individual households up to medical facilities and industry. They have already developed their own brand name PIPNA, in cooperation with a Russian partner for microbiological filtration of water and have become an exclusive representative of the Clean Water Group for Slovenia.

They had positive experience with the Slovenian voucher systems before, as they applied for the voucher to set up their digital marketing. Therefore, it was not a difficult decision to apply for another voucher, when they planned to further internationalise and expand to the markets of the western Balkans.

In 2019 Nanoten applied for a voucher to obtain an international, European or Slovenian Quality Certificate. They have received a voucher in the worth of 6.744,00 EUR. As a producer of water filtration systems, the quality certificates ensure that they apply high standards to their products, therefore they gain trust on foreign markets. In the future they are planning to apply for more vouchers to further help them in their internationalisation process.

Their goal, however, is not only to expand to new markets, but to actively contribute to preservation of the most precious of all natural resources – water!
