Every year, the Forum Solarenergie (Solar Energy Forum) locates the progress made in photovoltaics in Lower Saxony. At least 65 GW of photovoltaics are to be installed in Lower Saxony by 2040 to replace previous energy sources. In addition, new electrical applications and hydrogen production require electricity from renewable sources. Lower Saxony is currently scoring points in the expansion of photovoltaics on roof surfaces. But is the pace sufficient? Are the framework conditions right? Are the applications right?

This year, the focus is on how photovoltaics fits into the North German energy transition and on PV practice on roofs and in neighbourhoods. Other thematic highlights are the question of citizen participation in plants and the planning of powerful ground-mounted plants.

Look forward to an interactive online event with top-class speakers and lively discussion rounds. Your hosts are the Institute for Solar Energy Research Hameln (ISFH), the Energy Research Centre Lower Saxony (EFZN) and the Climate Protection and Energy Agency Lower Saxony (KEAN).
