The main action was to create the IRENES Land Use Tool (ILUT) to improve decision making and planning processes.

This has improved implementation of the UK Net Zero Strategy by enabling local government stakeholders to better assess options, land use trade-offs and synergies when evaluating renewable energy options in their areas.

We are currently discussing enhancement and legacy opportunities

Funding to enhance the tool functions with the Greater South East Net Zero Hub and county council stakeholders

Expansion of the coverage to the whole of the Greater South East and incorporation of data in the UK Power Networks Collaborative Local Energy Optimisation (CLEO) platform
