The 1st Steering Committee Meeting of KEEP ON Project was held in Ourense province, Spain, during the 27th and 28th September. Besides the technical working sessions, in which the partners discussed and analysed the project tasks and phases, there was also the opportunity to have a study visit to different cultural heritage projects in the province of Ourense.
This meeting was the opportunity to all partners present their own organisations as well as to present the Policy Instrument each one is addressing within the project. Since one of the core activities of INTERREG EUROPE projects is the identification and analysis of Good Practices, the programme also included study visits to different cultural heritage projects, proposed by the host organisation and Lead Partner, INORDE, after what they were jointly analysed and assessed by the participants.
Within these good practices proposed there is the Lab of Agro industrial Development Centre of Inorde (supported by the European Project MERCAGANADO-PROMERCADO, Spain-Portugal Cross-border Cooperation), Train Station - Baños de Molgas (that had as main activity the revitalization and recovery of 6 old train stations across Ourense province giving them a new use and promoting cultural heritage as a potential for sustainable tourism development) and Parador de Santo Estevo (old monastery and state owned hotel, where it was possible to observe how an abandoned historical building becomes a top level accommodation facility allowing the development of the whole area).
