Using the methodology known as peer review, experts from the Lithuanian Government and MOSTA, the Lithuanian evaluation agency, have analysed the evaluation system of the Basque Government's Hazitek, Basque Industry 4.0 and Gauzatu R&D programmes.

The results obtained from this comparison will serve as a starting point to design an evaluation model that bears in mind the combination of funding instruments avoiding overlaps and fostering synergies.

A delegation of professionals from the Lithuanian Government and MOSTA, the Lithuanian evaluation agency, has visited the Basque Country within the framework of the Manumix Interreg Europe project which aims to improve the evaluation of R&D and Innovation policies in advanced manufacturing.

This visit is part of the comparison process to be carried out among the project's member regions in which one of them analyses the activity of its peer region.

The comparison project will continue until April in Lithuania, with the assessment by Basque experts of the Lithuanian Government's advanced manufacturing policies combination model. Like in the peer review carried out in the Basque Country, the results obtained in Lithuania will be vital for the design of the new combined evaluation model.

About Manumix Interreg Europe

The Manumix Interreg Europe project, led by the Basque Country through Innobasque, the Basque Government and Orkestra and in which Lithuania, Piamonte and Wales participate aims to strengthen and improve the evaluation mechanisms of the set of regional programmes in the field of advanced manufacturing to take advantage of existing synergies and avoid overlaps.

The European Commission, different European governments and bodies, such as the OECD, insist on the need to improve the effectiveness of these policies through combined evaluation. The Manumix Interreg Europe project has funding of €1,000,000 over four years, during which time a combined evaluation will be made to address this need.
