The second MARIE Stakeholder group meeting took place on 22nd November 2017 at the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd office in Tampere. The group of stakeholders was collected from the key organisations related to Responsible Innovation (RI) policy, management ethics and responsibility. The group consists of representatives from the University of Tampere, The Finnish Institute of Bioethics, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd and the Council of Tampere Region.

Participants discussed project objectives and activities, including the Regional Responsible Innovation Maturity Assessment currently being carried out. The topic of RI has sparked a lot of interest in the region – the stakeholders have a lot of relevant experience and knowledge but the concept in not yet integrated into regional policy. The stakeholders are motivated to use MARIE to address this.

Bringing RRI to life, the members of the stakeholder group members also visited some of the labs of VTT. Given that responsibility perspectives are very much considered in robotics, the group had a chance to meet and talk with one of the assistant robots that has been developed in VTT.
