The County of Northeim invites to the first stakeholder meeting in the framework of the European Interreg project MATCH-UP. The meeting will take place on Thursday, 1st of November from 12.30 pm to 4.00 pm in the FORUM of the Berufsbildenden Schulen in Einbeck.
MATCH-UP project focuses on the optimization of the places where people change between transport modes. By considering 4 main types of low-carbon means of transport (walking/cycling, rail transport, public transport, green vehicles). MATCH-UP aims at achieving significant improvements of modal interchange within four involved countries (Ireland, Germany, Romania, Portugal). To reach this aim we in the County of Northeim want to have you on board!
The launch event will present MATCH-UP goals and activities in an informal environment, where transport users, associations and citizens as well as other stakeholder groups will be invited to get to know our project and to understand how to get involved in future activities.
For the keynote speech the County was able to obtain the mobility expert Prof. Dr. Andreas Knie from the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung. In his view, the limits of fossil automobilism have been reached. He advocates a shift away from a car oriented transport policy towards a traffic turn of flexible public transport offers.
Take the chance for interesting information and exchange. We look forward to you and your future cooperation!
