The Interreg Annual Meeting 2019 will take place from 22 to 23 May in Bucharest and is organized by the European Commission, Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy together with the Romanian EU Council Presidency.

In accordance with Article 51 of Regulation (EU) No 1303/2013, the meeting is one of the annual opportunities to review programme implementation. It is the biggest event on the Interreg calendar bringing together Managing Authorities and Joint Secretariats of all Interreg Programmes to discuss challenges and opportunities for cooperation with the European Commission.

The meeting will start in the morning of 22 May 2019 with a plenary session on the future programming period 2021-2027, followed by three parallel workshops on cross-border, territorial dimension in Interreg and external borders cooperation. The afternoon is scheduled for a project visit of your choice.

With the European Parliament elections starting on the 23 May 2019, the morning will begin with a keynote speech on the challenges of the EU. Furthermore, special attention will be given to this year’s exercise regarding the performance review and an interactive plenary session on communication and capitalisation.

NMP-REG is one of the three projects mentioned in the agenda that will be presented and discussed so playing an active role during the event. In particular, a site visit in UPB and a project presentation were scheduled along with a demonstration of cooperation between science and industry in which an active participation of some project stakeholders in the activities has been envisaged.
