The NMP-REG project partnership is organising a double event at the end of November and the beginning of December on project topics related to the current COVID-19 issue.

The first one will be an interregional exchange event, which will be held on 29 November from 10.00 to 11.30 (CET). Dmitri Petrovykh, from the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL), will present “ The role of NMP in COVID / post-COVID society: challenges and opportunities”, followed by an open discussion with all participants.

After the first year of additional activities (October 2021 - September 2020), the NMP-REG partners will consider the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their spatial and policy structures related to the provision of innovation in nanotechnology and nanoscience, knowledge-based multifunctional materials, and new manufacturing processes and devices (NMP).

The interregional exchange events combine a learning session (Day 1) and a partner workshop (Day 2). The seminar will include a series of presentations on the role of NMP during and after COVID, in terms of new applications, new challenges, and new opportunities. The presentations will include keynote speeches and practical examples. This session will be open to interested participants outside the NMP-REG consortium.

The second event will be held on 6 December (time to be confirmed) as a workshop for project partners. The theme of the meeting will be related to policy developments and capacity building in a post-Covid-19 perspective.

The idea of the workshop is to foster exchange among the partners on their specific areas of interest and priority topics for this further year of project activities. In addition to the NMP-REG partners, regional stakeholders and other interested parties will also take part in the event.

At the end of the meeting, conclusions will be drawn and partners will discuss a draft proposal on capacity needs and the next steps to be taken.
