Many fascinating ideas and applications emerged in the BOOST Hackathon, organized by the Computer Technology Institute and Press "Diophantus" in Patras from 25th to 31st May 2020, in a week full of webinars, workshops and mentoring sessions.

BOOST Hackathon was organized with the goal of encouraging the development of software applications and innovative ideas in the fields of Open Social Innovation and Open Data, in the context of the implementation  OSIRIS  and its pilot action “BOOST Region Data Open - Boost Western Greece ” .

The participants of BOOST Hackathon were students, developers, researchers, programmers and startuppers that formed teams and designed creative applications and services.

Representatives of innovative companies both from Patras (SaMMYacht.com, Delivery.gr, Meazon and Startupper.gr) and abroad (Enchatted and Algomo) participated and greatly contributed by guiding the teams in designing their applications. Open data were provided by the participating companies, the Municipality of Patras and the Greek Ministry of Digital Government.

The event took place physically at the co-creative space for innovation and development of new ideas, POS4Work Co-Working Space (www.pos4work.gr), but mainly through online participation.

The winners of BOOST Hackathon are the team Bosons consisting of Anestis Mitakidis and Emmanuel Tzagakis, who presented the most fully featured application, team Rainbow of Nikoleta Demiri and Anastasios Dachis, who created the best chatbot and team Js.son’s of Dimitris Xrysanthopoulos & Haralambos Patatoukos, who presented the best idea. Bosons team, which received the Grand Winner award, won a € 200 gift voucher.
