The general phase of Startup Competition, will take place during the Start Europe Week 2020. The aim of the event is to give cultural and creative entrepreneurs a real-world experience to fine tune their business plans and elevator pitches to generate funding for successful commercialization of their product. The judges are going to evaluate the teams soliciting start-ups funds from crowdfunding platforms, early stage investors and venture capital firms.

The whole competition is going to be made of 4 rounds:

1st Round - Start-up competition preparation which lasts from the November 2019, to February 2020 (ongoing phase);

2nd Round - Start up competition what is planned for the February, 2020;

3nd Round - A Selecting Committee composed by entrepreneurs that will take place in May 2020;

4th Round - Pitch day and winners announcement. During this round, entrepreneurs will show their ideas by Skype or Video sessions and the judges will select only 5 best ideas.

As it's mentioned in the bylaw, the ideas will be evaluated basing on the criteria:
    Content of the business plan, including thoroughness and quality of the analysis;
    Attractiveness of the business model;
    The ability to respond to the circular economy and sustainability model;
    Effective use of business information and research;
    Team quality and experience;
    Social / environmental impact of the business idea;
    Clear communication;
    Quality and effectiveness of final presentation.
