Bratislava-Karlova Ves is one of the few city municipalities that actively participate in organizing conferences for professionals and stakeholders. The conferences are attended by representatives of the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic, representatives of Slovak towns and cities, experts from Slovakia and abroad, media representatives and stakeholders from academic and non-governmental sectors.

Following a series of successful conferences with international participation organized by Karlova Ves (in May 2018, the conference Green Infrastructure - A Quality Environment for Cities and Municipalities as part of the international project PERFECT, in September 2018, the kick off conference of the international project LIFE DELIVER), the municipality was involved in the preparation of another important event.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2019, a conference entitled Green Infrastructure and Biodiversity in Cities and Surroundings was held in the conference hall of the Bratislava Self-Governing Region. It was organized by the Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic in partnership with the Bratislava Self-Governing Region and Bratislava-Karlova Ves Municipality.

The aim of the joint conference was to provide municipalities with the practical information needed to effectively protect nature and biodiversity not only in their territory, but also in a wider context and to build green and blue infrastructures. The conference was opened by the state secretaries of both ministries and the mayor of Bratislava-Karlova Ves, Dana Cahojova. "Karlova Ves is aware of the seriousness of the climate crisis and therefore pays maximum attention to nature-based solutions for greenery maintenance and greenery development, efficient rainwater management and biodiversity support in our territory”, she said in her opening speech. A new publication A Handbook (not only) for Local Authorities: How to Prepare a Green Infrastructure Action Plan was presented at the event as one of the outputs of the Bratislava-Karlova Ves PERFECT project. This is a continuation of the publication Green Infrastructure Guide for the Municipalities that was translated into English language.
