About this good practice
Startups must operate in high risk contexts and with a high index of uncertainty.
The main problems related to young entrepreneurs are:
- Lack of knowledge of the sector.
- If the demand for services comes through friends and family, these are hardly charged.
- Lack of experience in team and process management.
- Very small network of contacts
- Lack of information on resources and entities that can support them.
UGR Emprendedora implements three different types of mentoring:
- Business mentors: entrepreneurs and professionals in the sector with long work experience.
- Academic mentors: professors and researchers linked to the University of Granada and who have great technical knowledge in their field of work.
- Student mentors and entrepreneurs. Young entrepreneurs and students who are willing to help and collaborate with other business projects Technician to diagnose the state of development of the project and their main needs:
1 Idea or seed period of the project.
2 Mid-phase of the project.
3 It may happen that the business project is developed or requires only information or help in an exceptional manner.
UGR Emprendedora integrates the UGR Mentoring team in several ways:
Currently, it receives tutoring through the following entities: SECOT, Santander Bank, Hispacolex, AJE, Finance R&D&I.
The beneficiaries are mainly members of the university community who are developing their own business projects, both students, graduates and PAS and PDI members

Potential for learning or transfer
This practice is easily extrapolated to any region where business development is promoted.
The associated costs can be very small and would only increase if the organization can afford it.
Furthermore, this system could be even implemented online, if circumstances require it.
This program has two key points:
- The willingness of mentors and entrepreneurs to work together.
- A coordinator that relates the profiles with mentors, so they can take advantage.
This system, with slight variations, is already implemented in many accelerators and entities linked to entrepreneurship. Example: Santander X, Minerva, Demium Startup, etc.
