The panels were installed in Czermno, used for production to supply the car fairing production line.
Construction of a solar farm with a capacity of up to 1 MW.
The company is implementing the project of which the full name is Construction of a photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of up to 1 MW in order to ensure energy independence at "HEKO" Plastics and Various Products Factory. There are 2,260 panels approx 4,520 m2 of 849.96 kW. 1 panel is of 360 W power. The manufacturer of the panels is Maysun Solar. The height of the supporting construction with modules is 2,5 to 3,2 m. It has got no impact on the existing technical infrastructure. Photovoltaic panels are mounted on a metal structure turned south. The panels are attached to their own metal construction with a slope of 30° to the ground. SHARP NUSC360 panels with monocrystalline silicon solar cells were used for the system. The inverter in the designed photovoltaic system supplies electricity production directly by phasing with the internal 230V, 50 Hz network. Seventeen SMA SUNNY TRIPOWER CORE1 inverters have been designed. The inverter is equipped with a network security device against network failures, which automatically disconnects the inverter from the network in case of deviation of the network parameters from the saved settings. Electricity produced by the photovoltaic system is introduced into the existing transformer station and further into the power distribution network of PGE S.A. The goal of the project is to ensure energy independence for industrial buildings located in Czermno.

Resources needed

The installation received EUR 441,521.16 of cofinancing from the Regional Operational Programme (ERDF) + EUR 216,333.22 own contribution. Now, the installation is almost maintenance free. Two workers manage the equipment. The software controls the panels.

Evidence of success

The implementation of this project is to lead to a situation where all energy comes from a renewable energy source – solar energy. In addition, it is assumed to sell surpluses of produced energy to the grid. The project implements the concept of universal design – the system is equipped with useful and easy-to-use control software although two electricians have been hired already by HEKO and are responsible and have got it on their duty list to monitor the installation.

Difficulties encountered

The project was co-financed under PA 3 Effective green energy from the Regional Operational Programme of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship 2014-2020. The project was implemented as part of a competition announced by the Office of the Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.

Potential for learning or transfer

Network security is a device that is designed to protect the network against negative effects of a photovoltaic generating source. The generator source uses a security feature that includes:
- undervoltage and overvoltage protection,
- phase sequence and phase monitoring.
If the monitored frequency and voltage parameters deviate from the set limits, the photovoltaic power source is immediately disconnected from the power grid. The solar system is disconnected until the parameters return to the set limits.
