On November 6 and 7, the First Forum of Cooperative Initiatives of Energy Transition was held in Monachil (Granada, Spain), organized by the City Council of Monachil and the Andalusian cooperative Candela, with the collaboration of the Río Monachil energy community, one of the first Andalusian energy communities, and Cooperase.

The Andalusian Energy Agency participated in this forum, which aims to bring together the main energy communities that, from the social economy, have emerged in Andalusia and other regions of Spain.

Ángel Sáez Ramírez,  from the Department of Internationalization, Innovation and Singular Projects of the Andalusian Energy Agency, participated in the session "Energy Transition from the Administration: citizenship as the protagonist", in which he addressed the potential of the energy communities in Andalusia and presented the main lines of work of the European POWERTY project, which is working to take advantage of energy communities as a tool to tackle energy poverty through renewable energy.
