After PROMETEUS getting into full swing, we want to review the project's kick-off meeting on 29 March 2017. It took place in La Valletta, Malta and was attended by representatives of all participating regional and national authorities, as well as members of the advisory partner coming in from Milan.
The lead partner, Transport Malta (TM), gave insights into the progress TM has already made in the field of e-mobility, and in the further execution of the project, such as the membership of the steering committee and possible benefits of PROMETEUS. In addition, TM's representatives stressed the importance of reliable and steady communication between project partners, including semiannual meetings.
Over the course of the meeting, all participants took part in sharing ideas and putting the project's future on steady feet. The financing and communication managers discussed and presented how to finance the project, as well as how to get PROMETEUS' ideas out to the public and actively enact change. One point the participants' discussion put a strong focus on was how to increase access to information on PROMETEUS, by offering a multilingual web presence and integrating the project into selected social media services.
Additionally, the representatives of Poliedra - Politecnico di Milano gave their first suggestions and led a discussion concerning some of the main strengths and weaknesses of the participating regions. They explained how regions can learn from each other's good practices, while still taking regional specifics into account and focusing on different policy measures. One of the premier means to promote this way of action is creating regional action plans, which is going to be an essential goal of PROMETEUS in the time to come.
