We want to introduce you to some of the regional work the project partners are doing, to show what actions PROMETEUS is taking right now, to influence public opinion and support electromobility.

During April and May 2017 the Provincial Government of Carinthia held three regional stakeholder workshops, with a total attendance of about 100 participants. The main goal of the workshops was to introduce members of administrative bodies and politics to electric vehicles. This way, both the acceptance of transitioning to an electric vehicle fleet and general awareness of decision-makers to EVs could be increased. The workshops were held by e-mobility specialists and certified driving instructors and included theoretical introductions, discussion, and the opportunity to experience the new cars in action.

Just before the first workshop, Peter Kaiser and Rolf Holub, the Governor of Carinthia and its regional Minister for the Environment, gave a press conference on the ongoing transition of Carinthia's public fleet to electric vehicles. They both stressed how electric vehicles decrease long term costs, and counteract carbon dioxide emissions.

It was a pleasant surprise how much interest and positive reactions the workshops received. The amount of attendants as well as the general reception of the topic were well above all reasonable estimates.
