July 20th, in the room “Sala del Consejo” in the building “Centro de Soluciones Empresariales” (Arroyo de la Encomienda - Valladolid), first workshop was held in Castilla y León.This is the first of a series of 5 workshops that will gather stakeholders from Castilla y León region with the aim of sharing experiences and knowledge around the topic alternative mobility.
Participants to this workshop have agreed to continue collaborating with PROMETEUS Project and in this sense they have shown their willingness to receive information of the project and attend future workshops. Other stakeholders may be identified later on and will be invited to join future events.
Mr. Carlos Martín Tobalina, General Director of Industry and Competitiveness in the Regional Government of Castilla y León, welcomed the attendees and introduced the event. Then Mr. Carlos Iván Riñones Mena introduced the General Directorate of Industry and Competitiveness, describing its main competences and the past and current activities in relation to the promotion of electromobility in the Castilla y León region. Then, he provided a detailed description of the project and explained the future tasks that have been planned and for which the commitment and active participation of the attendees (stakeholders) is needed and appreciated.
After these speeches, there was a discussion between the attendees. All attendees expressed their readiness to follow up the project progress and get involved, participating actively in all the initiatives that have been planned for the next four years.
Also, there was time for the presentation of other electromobility related initiatives in Castilla y León region. During this time the different presenters explain the attendees the different initiatives. Mr. Javier Olmos (CARTIF) and Modesto Mezquita ((Innovation Agency from Valladolid) presented REMOURBAN project, Mr. Gabriel Rubí (Palencia City Council) presented mySMARTLife project and other initiatives from Palencia, Mr. Arturo Pérez de Lucía (AEDIVE) presented CIRVE project and to conclude Mr. Agustín Muñoz (ESEN) presented Sustainable electric charging stations in La Granja de San Rafael (Segovia). The overall impression from this first workshop within the framework of PROMETEUS project is very positive. The main objective of the event has been achieved: the stakeholders group has been created, and it gathers members from public administrations, industry and research centers. All of them share as a common interest the promotion of electric mobility, though each one from a different perspective. After the project presentation and description of planned activities for the next 4 years, attendees have presented their own initiatives and experiences. There has been also room for asking questions and expressing opinions. All participants have agreed on the need to collaborate from the public and the private side to set up initiatives that lead to a wider adoption of electromobility in EU countries.
