General Directorate of Industry and Competitiveness will have the honor to be the host of the third steering committee which has been scheduled for the next 11th and 12th of April. On 10th of April is the 2nd focused meeting sheduled. Based on this, we would like to highlight all the activities, initiatives and experiences that Junta de Castilla y León is carrying out in the sustainable mobility field through our organization abovementioned.

As we said before, Junta de Castilla y León by means of the General Directorate of Industry and Competitiveness is taking measures in order to implement a culture of sustainable mobility in the Region.

On the one hand, the implementation of recharging infrastructures throughout the Region has been fostered with subsidies during the last 7 years.

On the other hand, the purchase of electric vehicles is encouraged and it helps with the manufacture of this kind of vehicles and technology in Castilla y León. In fact, Castilla y León Region has the Renault España factory in the province of Valladolid, which was the first electric vehicle factory in Spain.

Besides, Castilla y León was the only Autonomous Community with an electric vehicle strategy from 2011 to 2015 in Spain, which was presented by the General Directorate of Industry of the Junta de Castilla y León in Brussels, before the electromobility group of the Committee of the Regions, organization where Castilla y León held the vice-presidency from 2010 to 2012.

Nowadays, Castilla y León region has 400 public charging stations, spread over the nine provinces and we are working on the implementation of this infrastructure network. Likewise, and according to official data of the General Directorate of Traffic of Spain in the year 2017, there were 620 electric vehicles in the region. Castilla y León has numerous examples of electric mobility at the local level, through the different local entities which are very involved in the type of mobility.

This experience in our region can be a source of knowledge for PROMETEUS project. General Directorate of Industry and Competitiveness can transmit its good practices and experiences in the scope of the electric mobility promotion, as well as learning from its partners trying to reproduce those practices or knowledge that could be beneficial for our Community.
