The Municipality of Reggio Emilia, lead partner of PROSPERA project, held the final event related to Phase 1 on Friday 10 June, with the aim of presenting Reggio Emilia’s Local Action Plan for the promotion and enhancement of local peri-urban areas. The event was attended by 22 participants, representing 16 organizations.

The Local Action Plan of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, defined in collaboration with CRPA and E35 Foundation on the basis of the exchange of experiences with the 5 European project partner cities, intends to create the "Reggio Emilia Food Policy Council", a participatory body to promote the transition towards a sustainable agri-food system, through the active involvement of all relevant stakeholders.

The Food Policy Council, inspired by the good practice presented by the City of Ghent and the participatory approach implemented by the Municipality of Varberg, will make it possible to develop a common and integrated response to the challenges of the territory, working on key issues for the sustainable development of peri-urban areas, such as production and consumption, environmental and food education, social innovation and resource management.
