RaiSE participates in SOCENTSPAs event in Soria
RaiSE was invited to participate in the international conference "Impact Investing and Social Innovation in Europe", held in Soria on the 10 & 11 May 2017.
Each Spring, SOCENTSPAs project partner, El Hueco, organises in Soria an international meeting about social entrepreneurship that gathers together more than one hundred social entrepreneurs, social investors, public organisations and scholars in the field of social economy, and which has become a reference meeting in Europe. As SOCENTSPAs and RaiSE are fellow projects (both are focused on social enterprises), RaiSE was invited to participate in the conference.
In the round-table "Programmes and Funds for Social Innovation in Europe", Paula Santarén, RaiSE Project Manager, presented to the audience the story of RaiSE project, starting by how the Lead Partner, ACCIÓ (the Agency for Business Competitiveness in Catalonia), helps to improve the competitiveness of social enterprises, and wanted to discover how other similar public institutions from European regions were helping them as well. Afterwards, RaiSE partnership, objectives and activities were presented. Paula gave as well some tips to the audience on how to access Programmes and Funds for Social Innovation in Europe. After the presentation, many people asked for more information about the project.
The round-table was moderated by Marta Solórzano, Full Professor of Business Administration at UNED and Director of the Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation Programme. The other speakers were Ramón Tejedor, Director of Aragonese Institute of Development; Raúl Contreras, Responsible for Solidarity Economy and Social Innovation of Las Naves (Valencia) and Co-Founder of Nittúa; and Joaquín Alcalde, Director of El Hueco. The four speakers and the moderator exchanged great ideas and expertise and committed to keep in touch and keep working for social enterprises and social change.

SOCENTSPAs is an Interreg Europe project that will foster interregional cooperation among six public and private non-profit entities of Finland, Germany, Slovakia and Spain, in a view to improve the effectiveness of regional policies in actively supporting the visibility, incubation and acceleration of social entrepreneurs in sparsely populated areas (SPAs) as a driver to regional competitiveness and inclusive growth.

El Hueco is a co-working space an a social enterprises incubator. It aims to create a favourable environment to create and develop social enterprises, particularly in sparsely populated areas (SPAs), as Soria's province in Spain.
