Scotland Europa's EU Cooperation & Innovation Event

Scotland Europa, in partnership with The Royal Society of Edinburgh, organised a high-level event on the 29 September 2017 in Edinburgh to discuss the future of EU Cooperation and Innovation.

This stakeholder forum provided an opportunity for Scottish stakeholders to discuss the future development of European policy and instruments for collaboration and innovation, as well as the opportunities for our continued engagement.

In addition to the high level speakers and panellists from the UK and EU, the event included a project exhibition and a bespoke case study publication.

Mike Russell MSP, the Minister for UK Negotiations on Scotland’s Place in Europe joined the conference by VC from his constituency office and gave the key note speech which emphasised that it is the uncertainty around Brexit that reinforces the case for retaining and maintaining EU cooperation opportunities for Scotland in the future. He also called upon UK Government to provide a clear position on the UK’s participation in EU funding programmes beyond the departure date from the EU.
