Brokerage event on social entrepreneurship development in Brussels
It was jointly organised between Interreg Europe projects SOCIAL SEEDS, SOCENTSPAs and RaiSE.
Three Interreg Europe projects focused on social interprises (SOCIAL SEEDS, SOCENTSPAs and RaiSE) jointly organised this matchmaking event on 12-14 December 2017, with the support of the Emilia-Romagna region, EURADA and Watify.
Opening session of the Brokerage event. From left to right: Paula Arribas (SOCENTSPAs), Mária Baracsi (SOCIAL SEEDS), Michael Langley (IEDC), Roberta Dall'Ollio (ERVET & EURADA) and Paula Santarén (ACCIÓ).
It was the first time that three Interreg Europe projects that work on a similar topic joined forces to organise an event, and the Joint Secretariat representative, Benoît Dalbert, publicly congratulated the three projects for doing so, taking into account, besides, that they are the only three projects in Interreg Europe programme focused on social enteprises.
This Brokerage brought together more than 165 stakeholders from various backgrounds, offering a unique opportunity to social enterprises to speak with international experts on the field and to forge links for new cross-border partnerships.
All European regions face similar challenges in terms of integration, elderly care, long term unemployment, aid for disadvantaged people, etc. In this respect, the Brokerage was a great meeting place for regional development agencies to draw inspiration from what their peers are doing to support the companies tackling these challenges.
In the session "social enterprise best practices", representatives and stakeholders from each project exposed their examples to the audience. A recap of the event, including photos and presentations can be found here.
