Third stakeholder group meeting in Scotland

The Scottish stakeholder group for RaiSE celebrated the third meeting on 6 June 2018 in Perth.

The third meeting of the Scottish Regional Stakeholder Group for RaiSE project was held in Perth on Wednesday 6 June 2018. The meeting was very well attended with 25 persons present, representing 20 organisations, and reflecting Scotland’s strong co-production approach to the sector. Representatives included Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Government, Senscot, Firstport, Social Firms Scotland, Social Investment Scotland, and Big Issue Invest. This meeting is used as a strategy forum following the launch of Scotland’s 10 Year Social Enterprise Strategy and the Scottish Social Enterprise Action Plan.

The primary aims of this meeting were to:

  • Update all stakeholders on the RaiSE Project and its objectives;
  • explore the opportunities that RaiSE and other programmes offer the region within the context of the national action plan;
  • progress key developments including the Scottish Government’s social enterprise priorities including; the Scottish Census, the Social Enterprise World Forum, and the activities within Scotland’s action plan.

A comprehensive overview of the RaiSE interregional meeting in Örebro was given by Josiah Lockhart. The purpose and objectives of the RaiSE project were reiterated once again to ensure that delegates were aware of its relationship to the current Scottish social enterprise policy and strategy work.

The overview was a very positive one, focussing mainly on the learning from Örebro and the comparisons between our two regions. Stakeholders were reminded that Scotland is hosting the next study visit in conjunction with the Social Enterprise World Forum

Thanks a lot, Scottish Enterprise team and stakeholders, for your enthusiasm and involvement in RaiSE project!
