Scottish Enterprise organises a Social Enterprise Training Day

It was acknowledged that Scottish Enterprise has a key role to play in offering the growing Social Enterprise sector quality support to both existing and prospective entrepreneurs.

A practical programme was delivered in order to build on the in house core knowledge and skills, with a view to deepening the understanding of Social Enterprise. The programme explored the key principles and characteristics and how they differ from other sectors, as well as the challenges and opportunities they face.

The output was an enhanced understanding of the realities of advising and supporting social entrepreneurs. This was achieved through discussion of real life examples and case studies, as well as the opportunity for a Q&A with the CEO of one of Scotland’s oldest charitable social enterprises; The Kibble Education and care centre, established in 1850.
