Successful “High Dissemination Event: A new challenge for restarter entrepreneurs”, presenting REBORN project actions and findings

On 15th September 2020, facing the end of the project, REBORN partnership held the “High Dissemination Event: A new challenge for restarter entrepreneurs” to show up the interesting results of the actions carried out within the partners regions: Liguria, Murcia, Wallonia, Central Hungary and Lubelskie. In this way, the event was the culmination of almost four years of project implementation offering these regions the opportunity for policy learning and good practices transfer in second chance entrepreneurship.

This successful virtual dissemination event that involved 48 participants started with the welcome of the attendees by Pietro De Martino, FILSE BIC Incubator Manager, and the presentation of the state of play of the Interreg Europe Programme by the Policy Officer Laurentiu David. Then, it continued with the presentations of the project and the Regional Actions Plans on re-entrepreneurship implemented within the different participant areas, explaining their goals and incurred difficulties.

The second part of the event focused on the exploitation of synergies in European policies on second-chance entrepreneurship support, going through the five best practices selected by the REBORN partnership and closing the event with a panel discussion on the new possibilities of development triggered by project activities and findings.

It is expected that REBORN will contribute, through the incorporation of lessons learnt during the interregional learning into the Actions Plans implemented in the regions, to the Programmes for Investing for Growth and Jobs and European Cohesion, enhancing the situation of SMEs in difficulties and the measures to overcome "stigmatization" of entrepreneurs resulting from bankruptcy. This will avoid the loss of entrepreneurial talent and will contribute both to the improvement of European competitiveness and to regional economic growth.
