The 4th Stakeholder Meeting in Greece was held online on 22nd May 2020 and was attended by several representatives of local authorities. The meeting started with a presentation about the adverse conditions that the transport sector is facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the support offered by the South Aegean Region to the affected SMEs. In this context, projects like RECREATE are a way of making good use of funding from European and National Resources.
After a brief reference to the objectives and expected results of the RECREATE project, it followed a detailed presentation of the mapping of Transport SMEs competitiveness throughout the South Aegean Region, capturing interesting data especially with regard to the insularity of the territory.
The research work that the IMET Transport Institute is implementing in the Region based on the island of Rhodes was also showed.
The meeting ended with a presentation about the activities of the "Sails of Aegean" Social Cooperative Enterprise that carries out environmentally friendly transport of products by sailboat in the Aegean and the wider Mediterranean region and is one of the Good Practices that will be submitted under the RECREATE project.
