On 21st of October, 2019, in the “Bogdan Vodă” Hall of the Administrative Palace in Maramureș, Romania, the first meeting of the stakeholders from the project "REDUCES” was held with a great involvement of the stakeholders and authorities from Maramureş County.
Claudia Breban, Director of Projects Development Department of Maramureș County Council opened the meeting and underlined the project’s objectives “to form a cooperation network of regions that are on different levels of Circular Economy development and have a strong shared will on further supporting their regions’ businesses in the transition to a Circular Economy. The exchange of experiences and knowledge within and between the regional authorities is the key in developing the best action plans to support environmentally sustainable business models for each region and policy.”
In the meeting, the Executive Director of Maramureș Integrated Waste Management Agency, Sandu Hotima presented the concept of CE and Margareta Căpîlnean, manager assistant in “Reduces” project, presented the examples of CE projects developed in the North-Vest region of Romania. The representative of Maramureş Agency for Environment Protection, Gabriel Tămâian spoke about the national legislation related to CE and connected fields.
The stakeholders from local authorities, companies and organizations had the opportunity to express their interests, opinions and expectations on the project and many of them appreciated warmly the initiative of implementing the “Reduces” project.
