The Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia on behalf of the Region of Central Macedonia, with the cooperation of the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (HIT/CERTH), implemented on 17/06/2022 the online event with the title: “Participatory and Citizen-led Urban Mobility Planning: Its implementation during the pandemic".

The event was organized in the framework of the additional activities of the REFORM project - "Integrated Regional Action Plan For Innovative, Sustainable and LOw CaRbon Mobility", which is co-funded by the European Interregional Cooperation Program INTERREG EUROPE 2014-2020. It was attended by more than 20 representatives of the Technical Services of the Municipalities of the Region of Central Macedonia and organizations engaged on sustainable mobility.

The aim of the event was to understand the opportunities for planning sustainable mobility as they arose from the constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic, to create and / or promote sustainable mobility interventions.


Τhe Deputy Regional Governor of the Metropolitan Unit of Thessaloniki, Mrs Paraskevi Patoulidou addressed a greeting, discussing about the actions of the Region of Central Macedonia during the pandemic, while Dr. Maria Morfoulaki, on behalf of the lead partner HIT/CERTH, presented the REFORM project, its targets, its key achievements and its next steps. The good practices proposed by the project partners, were presented via a relevant video, and the results of the online survey on urban mobility, conducted among citizens of Region of Central Macedonia during the period February - March 2022 were presented by Ms. Anna Pouliou.


Furthermore, the results of the awareness raising actions for the promotion of sustainable mobility held under the Interreg Adrion project, Inter-Connect PLUS were presented by Mrs. Glykeria Myrovali. At the end of the event, an interactive discussion with the participants followed, during which the importance of such events and awareness-raising actions for the support of the municipalities in the planning of urban mobility was highlighted.
