After its recent start, the European project REGIO-MOB “Interregional Learning towards Sustainable Mobility in Europe: the REGIO-MOB Experience” deploys its technical activities for each of the seven participating European regions.

In the case of Andalusia, it has just been held the first regional meeting of experts in the various aspects of sustainable mobility. This meeting has been promoted by IAT, as project leader, along with Red de Consorcios de Transporte de Andalucía / Network Transport Consortia of Andalusia. It took place on June 16th in premises of the Consejería de Fomento y Vivienda / Regional Ministry of Public Works and Housing, in Seville.

At that meeting, after presenting the project to the attendees,  their participation as regional actors and key to the success of the project was focused, with a working session aimed at establishing a SWOT analysis (identifying needs, contributions to the analysis, key findings to consider) associated with the situation of the Andalusian regional mobility, in a meeting which was very participatory by all attendees.

REGIO-MOB is an INTERREG Europe project which aims to promote collaboration among key regional actors in the transport sector to make the transition to modes of sustainable and efficient transport to improve regional mobility, To this end a number of activities are going to be contemplated in this regard over the next four years in the participating regions (see map). During the first stage aiming at contributing to the development of these regions primarily in activities of mutual learning and benchmarking, then tackle tasks aiming at promoting regional plans of mobility and, in general, new policies on sustainable mobility not only in those regions, but at European level.
