Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the South Transdanubian study visit of the Regions 4Food project that intends showcasing Hungarian agri-food digitisation Good Practices will be organised on 18 June 2020 Thursday, commencing at 10:00 hours CET. The host of the event is the South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency, project partner of the Regions 4Food Interreg Europe project.
The two hours long event will have three key presentations as follows:
The first Good Practice will be presented by Farkas Ltd. from Zimány. This agrarian enterprise focuses on technical, organisational and economic aspects of precision farming. Farkas Ltd. is good example for agricultural companies that operate on a more modest financial budget, but are interested in agricultural, data-driven development and technological innovation. Mr. László FARKAS, managing director of Farkas Ltd. will share his experiences with the audience in different data collection methods and data use, with coupling technological solutions in wheat, maze, rye cultivation, among others.
The second one in a row will be the Bos Frucht Agrarian Cooperative with its proven demonstration and transfer potential that this business unit plays in the rolling out of digitisation in its wider geographical operation area. The company is a dairy farm with 2,500 dairy cows, its headquarters is located in Kazsok (Somogy county, 25 kilometers far from Kaposvár, the county seat). The farm was rebuilt in 2013 according to the highest technology standards at the time (US model of dairy farms), and still offers a high level of information provision/pilot case for further dairy farms that are interested in digitisation. The presentation will be delivered by Mr. Barna EGYED, chairman of the board of the cooperative.
The third Good Practice will be the Industry 4.0 sample factory of Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Being part of the Industry 4.0 Technological Center, Mr. László KOVÁCS, leader of the training and demonstration project will introduce the industry 4.0 readiness in the Hungarian food industry by presenting the data and information science research carried out at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. The Center is also home to hands on demonstration working stations for the benefit of deploying IT process and production management and support solutions at different Hungarian food processing companies.
The study visit is dedicated to Regions 4Food project partners and their stakeholders.
