On Friday 31.07.2020, Fachhochschule Vorarlberg hosted a Local Stakeholder Seminar, focusing on potentials of circular economy and advanced manufacturing strategies for better utilization of RES policy frameworks in the region.

Stakeholders from industry, service and local authority sectors were invited to attend the seminar, and to participate in the exchange of knowledge on the current status of RES policies in the region. Prospective further RES policy alignments that could promote circular economy strategies and RES application in advanced manufacturing were of particular interest to participants. In addition, the analysis of RES technologies that supports its integration within industrial production system in Vorarlberg, and monitoring systems that would support measurement of the long term effect of such practices were in the focus of further discussions.

In the scope of the Policy Instrument addressed, FHV introduced Austria's "RES in industry Best Practices", and discussed potentials and possible directions for further installation of RES capacities. The main focus in this regard was on the use of material and energy technologies for identifying alternative energy storages, water treatment and energy recovery based on absorption processes. The main results of the event included a set of recommendations for the State Government Vorarlberg aimed to promote the expansion of RES in Austria - in the context of a specific industrial framework, and in the context of circular economy potentials for a more advanced application of RES in industry.
