The Sum 2018 Symposium is an international conference providing an arena to discuss the most recent aspects related to Urban Mining (UM) and Circular Economy (CE).

This year's edition will focus on three key elements essential to achieve virtuous applications of current practices of UM and CE:

- research and technology (private and public)

- administration, economy and industry

- policy and regulation.

The Symposium will last three days and will include oral sessions, a poster session and a technical tour. Chiara Battistoni, from RETRACE team, will take part to the conference presenting one of the key aspects of the project, the methodology applied to carry on the Holistic Diagnosis. This was essential to assess the potentialities of each partner region in relation to the development of a Circular Economy. Besides a theoretical part, the presentation will focus on the case study of Piedmont Region.
