FORTRESS CITIES AND FORTRESSES IN GREEN AND BLUE - HERITAGE MEETING IN DENDERMONDE WITH LIVESTREAM

Something is moving around the military heritage of our fortress cities such as Dendermonde, Lier and Mechelen.

They are working on a vision for the future and a master plan for their fortresses with attention to future challenges.

The sometimes forgotten military heritage can offer a solution to the need for more green (recreational) space in the city and at the same time be used as a rainwater buffer through greening and opening filled canals again. There is room for the development of entrepreneurship and the re-use of the heritage buildings.

On January 20, 2021, we will therefore organize a first regional meeting in which experts consider the possibilities. Some initial realizations are discussed, supplemented with inspiring examples for a blue-green future of military heritage. During a workshop with a panel, all attendees can participate or ask questions.

The meeting is hosted in Dendermonde and can be followed digitally via Zoom (link follows).
