Magdeburg's regional RFC-stakeholder group celebrated on January 27th their 6th regional meeting at the ecology centre. The site is located on a previous fort area (intermediate work 4a) which has its origins in the 1890s. In 1920 the city of Magdeburg acquired the fort, it was landscaped and temporarily used as a day-care centre for lung patients. It is still owned by the city and was given to the non-profit association 'Ökozentrum Magdeburg' for use. At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Friedrich as chairman of the association gave the stakeholder group a small guided tour. The next points on the meeting agenda were the RFC project news and Magdeburg's new fortress film. The participants were very interested in the developments of the action plan and supported the objective proposed to create an overall vision. Furthermore, they made it clear how some of Magdeburg's special fortress sites urgently need to be saved.
The upcoming dates for the RFC project were then announced and stakeholders were invited to attend, if possible. The session finished with a free exchange on topic-related projects.
