Last Thursday 24th, a new study visit was held in Teruel. It is one of the last activities planned in the first phase of the RFC project, focused on the exchange of experiences and the drafting of an action plan on the territory, taking as an example other initiatives shared by the other partners. During the second phase, planned from next summer, the work foreseen in the action plan, which is currently being drafted, will be carried out.

The study visit was attended by 37 participants, who attended the explanation of various local projects and the state of this heritage site in Aragon. One of the interventions was given by the company that manages the Peracense Castle, Acrótera, which detailed the different activities carried out to revitalise this enclave, with theatrical performances, guided tours, festivals and even the publication of a comic book.

In addition, Jesús Franco, one of the members of Acrótera, spoke about the process of reconstruction of the castle and the research into the resources found in various excavations.

Two members of the Santa María de Albarracín Foundation, Stephanie Murciano and the architect Francisco Javier Gómez, reviewed the 25-year history of study, recovery and promotion of heritage carried out by the Foundation, as well as the recent work carried out for the reconstruction of the outer wall of Albarracín.

The meeting was also attended by the Comunidad de Teruel region with its project "Atrinchérate", aimed at enhancing the value of the remains of trenches, bunkers and machine-gun nests from the Civil War located in the region. Carmen Alonso shared with the attendees the milestones of this project from its birth to its current state of development and the DPT has shown its interest in including it in the action plan of the RFC project.

Another participant in the virtual meeting was the Valderrobres Heritage Foundation. Its director, Manuel Siurana, has explained the activities of the Foundation since its origin and the management of the historical-artistic ensemble that makes up the church, the castle and the museum, giving information to the European partners of the project about the obtaining and application of funds for the reconstruction and improvement of this heritage.

The Association of Friends of Dos Torres de Mercader presented its project for the recovery of the trenches near the village. Ernesto Espada explained the set of activities for cleaning the paths and signposting the defensive areas and commented on the need to continue working to be able to enhance the value of the rest of the points where it has not yet been possible to intervene.

On the other hand, the architect of the Provincial Heritage Service of the Government of Aragon in Teruel, Clara Villalba, presented the heritage protection measures and foundations applied by the regional government.
