The project partner in Magdeburg held their 2nd RFC Info Day at the Ravelin 2 fortifications together with the Germany-wide “Tag der Städtebauförderung” (day of urban development). Interested citizens were informed about Magdeburg’s future planning for the fortifications across the city. The RFC Action Plan shall initiate the creation of an overall vision for the fortress.
The Prussian fortification was also visited by citizens and tourists interested in seeing the progress of the restoration work. Currently, a large-scale ERDF reconstruction measure is taking place. The principal of this measure is the city of Magdeburg which works in close cooperation with the restoration association “Sanierungsverein Festungsanlage ‘Ravelin 2’ e.V.”. Since 2014, the association restores the Ravelin 2 fortifications through ambitious volunteer work.
