"Let's return life to the fortresses" was the subtitle of the first Info Day of the project "Recapture the Fortress Cities", which took place in Prešov on September 25th 2020, as part of the conference of the Regional Monuments Office, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the declaration of the city monument reservation Prešov.
Representatives of architects, urban planners and members of the monument office participated in the panel discussion. They presented their view of the fortification as a public space, its function today and the problems related to the restoration of the fortresses.
Our project deals with the problems and needs of fortified cities in the region in order to improve regional and local policy in the protection of cultural heritage - city fortifications.
The project "Recapture the Fortress Cities" has been implemented by Presov Self- Governing region since August 2019 with the financial support of the Interreg Europe program.
